ACADEMIC SEMESTER IN FLORENCE
School for Art, Media and Contemporary Interpretation of Cultural Heritage

The program of the Academic Semester in Florence is a study-abroad progam offered to graduate and post-graduate students of art who are currently enrolled in art universities and academies in Belgrade and Novi Sad. The program represents a result of the collaboration between the institutions signatories of the Outside collaboration Protocol, Florence Academy of Fine Arts and Belgrade University of Arts. The semester program is held in the Fall term, September-December 2008, for the duration of 12 to 14 weeks.
The content of the Academic Semester is based on an immediate exploration of the cultural - historical and contemporary - reality of Florence. The program is oriented towards the context of the city itself, in order to offer a particular case-sudy approach to universal problems of art and culture by focusing on the given reality of an important European cultural center. As in all Outside programs, the Academic Semester includes close collaboration with the Florentine institutions of art and education.
In agreement with the Belgrade University of Arts, as well as with all individual Universities / Academies / Departments, students attending the Academic Semester in Florence recieve transferable university credits. In order to integrate the Academic Semester experience into each students' regular academic studies, the choice of courses may be requested or suggested by the Department Head or by the Office for International Collaboration of individual faculties.

Lecturers are experts in their fields mainly professionals living in working in Florence. However, the program will include the participation of professors from Belgrade and Novi Sad, as well as other international lecturers. Lectures are held in English, except when professor as well as all students in class are Serbo-Croatian speakers.
The information on the costs, as well as descriptions of all individual courses and lecturers will be pubblished on this website by beginning of the calendar year (2008).
